The Cottage is one of three individual B&Bs situated on a five acre property, Bella Cosa in the heart of the McLaren Vale wine region. It used to be owned by artist Peter Maddox and is still the home to many of the sculptures he created in his time here. The region hosts more than 80 cellar doors and has 30 kilometres of breath-taking coastline. Bella Cosa is only a few minutes drive to the centre of McLaren Vale, walking distance to McLaren Flat and is central to many wineries and restaurants.

Very nicely presented with comprehensively equipped kitchen and indoor/outdoor dining facilities. Having locally sourced breakfast items for the first morning including eggs, bacon, milk, cereals, bread, butter, a selection of spreads and orange juice added to our enjoyment, as did a Nespresso pod machine. Generously sized rooms with space to move and relax. Cozy fireplace and a comfy bed. Not a big deal but the front bedroom is relatively close to a busy road, which might be an issue if both bedrooms are used. We stayed in the back bedroom and didn’t notice any traffic noise so slept well.
